Our incoming class includes students exploring a range of materials and ideas.

Third Room presents Capital Crawl

April 5th for the opening reception of Capital Crawl, a celebration and solo multimedia installation of new works exploring disability aesthetics and identity revelry by Marie Conner.

Artists and peers Abney Wallace (Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies candidate) and Daniel Glendening show together for the first time at Third Room.

The Low-Residency Students had the opportunity this winter to meet with Curators and Gallerists at the Portland Art Museum, Yale Union, PDX contemporary, and Chicken Coop Contemporary

During the Winter Intensive, the First-Year students presented the work the they have completed over their first two semesters. The Second-Year students presented their Thesis Proposals in preparation for their final year of the program.

It is a pleasure to introduce Christopher Willauer (Brooklyn, NY) as the first participant of the Tiny Residency at Third Room.

Low-Res Visiting artist Sky Hopinka is presenting a selection of his moving images "I’ll Remember You as You Were" Tuesday, December 18th 7pm at the Northwest Film Center’s Whitsell Auditorium, inside the Portland Art Museum, 1219 SW Park Ave.

On November 23 Alejandra Salinas and Low-Residency MFA chair Aeron Bergman gave an artist talk at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design, Stockholm. They will also conducted studio visits.

Chair of the Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies, Aeron Bergman, will launch the journal OEI #82-83 November 21 at Index - The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation in Stockholm.

Chair of the Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies, Aeron Bergman, had work in A Sweet Taste of Conspiracy at FUEGO, Mexico City September 22 and 23.

Low-Residency MFA candidate Vanessa Briones-Englund co-curated the exhibition AND/OR happening October 7 at Junior High in Los Angeles.

The Hallie Ford School of Graduate Studies is excited for the 2018 Graduate Symposium. This year's theme is Pedagogy: Engage, Critique, Inspire and will feature Keynote Speaker Allan deSouza.
