We also regularly offer courses in career development for artists including developing your online presence. New courses are developed all the time. Design and Illustration

Professional Development Classes in Design

Taught by industry pros, our professional development courses in design empower you with knowledge, skills, and an expanded network to advance your career or launch into a new one. Starting with the basics in Intro to Graphic Design, we also offer courses in typography, tools such as InDesign and Illustrator, and special courses such as Fundamentals of UX Design. And courses in illustration help you apply your drawing talent to create communicative imagery while exploring what is required in a career as a professional illustrator.

Scheduled Just For You

Classes for every creative interest scheduled for busy adults

We schedule our classes mostly on weekday evenings with a handful of morning and weekend classes. Summer quarter features primarily weekend workshops and weeklong intensives. You'll find new classes to choose from each quarter.

Certificate Programs

PNCA offers Certificates in Graphic Design, Illustration, Sculpture and Drawing + Painting that can be completed on a part-time basis with evening and weekend classes. Each Certificate requires the completion of a customizable program of 15 Community Education courses.

Application for Certificate Programs is free and accepted year-round. There are no upfront payments, and no fees beyond individual class tuition. A high school diploma is required for admission to the certificate program.

The total cost of a Certificate Program runs between $5,000 and $6,000 depending on the selection of courses.
