Life at PNCA is much more than what happens in the classroom

We play as hard as we work with Flapjack Friday all-school breakfasts, beach field trips, spontaneous ping pong games, daily afternoon tea in the Printmaking Studio, monthly First Thursday art receptions, and the annual End of Year party.

Student Exhibitions

Show Your Work

Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to show their work in the many campus galleries. The campus community celebrates the creativity of its members through a variety of forums, including the annual Holiday Art Sale and the Undergraduate Juried Show and both the undergraduate and graduate thesis exhibitions. PNCA also opens it doors to the public in joining the entire Pearl District for the First Thursday Art Walk that takes place at the beginning of each Month.

For Students By Students

PNCA’s Student Council meets weekly to provide a forum in which students can voice your opinions and receive information about opportunities and issues concerning the student body. Funded through student fees and supported by the college administration, Student Council also allocates student funds for the betterment of the student body as a whole by supporting services and activities for students.

Student Council strives to motivate students by providing an opportunity for students to voice your opinions and make recommendations to the administration to enhance the quality of student life. Student Council is also a place for students to learn organizational and leadership skills.

Any student with a minimum of 2.5 GPA and who is in good academic standing is eligible for student leadership.

Visiting Artists

Meet Your Mentors

The campus is visited by an extraordinary array of internationally acclaimed artists, designers, poets, philosophers, theorist, entrepreneurs and activists. PNCA’s visiting scholars program supports a rich cultural environment on campus for all PNCA students as well as the greater Portland community. Graduate program events and activities are open to the entire campus and generally to the Portland community and are produced and sponsored by the graduate division of the college.

Student Clubs and Activities

Having Fun Together

Student-initiated clubs thrive at PNCA, and the list is always evolving. Club members can join in on outdoor adventures, learn to play the ukulele, try their hand at blacksmithing or debate the best art films with like-minded peers.

Weekly yoga classes and Life Drawing sessions are also available, free and open to all interested PNCA community members.
