PNCA Welcomes Larry Hudspeth as New Chief Financial Officer
PORTLAND, OR – July 19, 2012 - Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) is pleased to announce that Larry Hudspeth is joining the College as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With a broad thirty-year portfolio in non-profit financial and operations management, Hudspeth also brings specific experience in expansion projects just as PNCA embarks on the greatest expansion in the 104-year history of the College. “At a time when the College is entering a new era, we are fortunate to have someone with Larry’s level of expertise joining us in the position of CFO,” says President Tom Manley. “Larry’s depth of experience with the complex financial transactions around a significant building project is ideal as PNCA begins repurposing the historic Federal Building at 511 NW Broadway on Portland’s North Park Blocks into the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design.” Hudspeth’s selection was the result of an extensive national search that began last February conducted by a committee chaired by PNCA’s Vice President for Enrollment Services, Kavin Buck, and consisting of members of the board, faculty, and staff. Hudspeth’s background includes leadership positions at the Long Beach Opera and Symphony, the Music Center of Los Angeles, the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific—where he oversaw construction of a $72 million award winning facility as part of a $118 million tax-exempt bond deal—and Marketplace, the well regarded radio program broadcast on over 500 public stations nationally. Most recently Larry served as Assistant Dean, Finance/CFO at UCLA’s School of Art and Architecture and is currently in that position at the University’s School of Dentistry. Hudspeth received his BA in Music from Drake University, MA in Piano from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles. With this diverse experience and education in business and the arts, the search committee affirmed that Hudspeth brings desirable expertise to PNCA in a number of important areas that benefit the College and ultimately Portland’s creative community.

Today PNCA enrolls over 600 students in 15 undergraduate and graduate programs, and another 1,500 students through its continuing education programs.
