November 07, 2019

Portland, OR — November 4, 2019 – Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) is pleased to present Hilltop, a group exhibition of works by Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) final year students who are completing their BFA degrees at PNCA. The exhibition opens First Thursday, November 7, 2019 with a reception from 6-8pm and runs through November 14, 2019. The exhibition features works by 17 artists working in painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
Hilltop was initiated by PNCA’s BFA Gallery Coordinator Mazey Moon. This group of students has been led by educators Abby McGehee and Michelle Ross.
Prior to OCAC's closure, PNCA worked closely with OCAC to plan a teach-out agreement to arrange for instruction and studio space to allow OCAC students to finish their degrees at PNCA. The college is honored to present this exhibition of their works.
Student statement:
We are Hilltop, a group of makers whose shared foundation at the Oregon College of Art & Craft has deeply informed our process - a process rooted in intentional materiality and nostalgic impulse. Despite vast differences in media and in approach, the work we present today bears the mark of our friendship and of the lessons we’ve learned together. Bless the network.
