Writer Barry Sanders Delivers 2009 Convocation Address

PNCA Faculty member and writer Barry Sanders delivers the 2009 Convocation address on September 1, one of four Cornerstone lectures that also includes Homecoming, the Edelman Lecture, and Commencement.

Sanders is the author most recently of The Green Zone: The Environmental Costs of Militarism. In 1998, Sanders was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize by the publisher HarperCollins for his book Alienable Rights: The Exclusion of African Americans in a White Man’s Land, 1619-2000.

The event will also feature an informal centennial celebration, marking the day the doors first opened at PNCA (formerly the Museum Art School) in 1909.
