Ryan Bubnis completes San Jose mural commission
November 07, 2019
Assistant Professor Ryan Bubnis has just completed a mural at the Great Oaks Park Skatepark in San Jose, California, commissioned as part of POW! WOW! San Jose, a week-long arts and culture festival. He was one of just twelve artists from around the country selected for the festival. Bubnis mural was unveiled on October 26.
Bubnis is an artist, illustrator, and graphic artist with clients including Adobe, Facebook, Starbucks, Vans, and Warby Parker. He has shown his works widely, most recently with a solo exhibition at Stephanie Chefas Projects in Portland.
This is not Bubnis' first mural for a festival. In 2017 for the Forest For The Trees summer mural festival, he completed a large mural at the Aladdin Theater in Portland. Other mural commissions include one for a Seattle Starbucks, another as part of Facebook's artist in residence program in Seattle, and many for private clients in the Northwest.
