MFA Applied Craft & Design Lecture: Zahid Sardar

Zahid Sardar presents Material World: The Currency of Craft, an MFA in Applied Craft & Design Lecture. This PNCA Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture took place at the MFA in Applied Craft and Design Studios at The Bison Building, Portland, Oregon on October 22, 2009.

Zahid Sardar is the author and designer of New Garden Design and San Francisco Modern. He has written about architecture, interiors, craft and design for the San Francisco Examiner, and the San Francisco Chronicle where, for 20 years, he has held various titles including Architecture & Design Editor for the Chronicle magazine and most recently, San Francisco Chronicle Design Editor. Sardar has lectured widely about architecture, interior design and garden design and has participated on design juries for various organizations including the American Institute of Architects. His current lectures at Bay Area schools about the history of design focus on the return and value of craft in industrial design. Sardar has also written for House & Garden, House Beautiful, Elle Décor, Metropolis, Architecture, among others.
