Ruth Noack Lecture

Ruth Noack is based in Berlin and Washington DC. Noack is an author, art critic, university lecturer and exhibition maker since the 1990s, trained as a visual artist and art historian.
Ruth Noack was curator of documenta 12 (2007) and is currently developing a new cultural center for Whitman-Walker Health in Washington DC. She was Head of the Curating Contemporary Art Program, Royal College of Art, London in 2012-13, Noack also acted as Research Leader for the EU-project MeLa - European Museums in an age of migrations. She was Šaloun professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague (2013-14), lead the Gwangju Biennale International Curator Course in 2014 and teaches at International Summer Academy in Salzburg (2017 and 2018). Since 2015, she is responsible for one of the Dutch Art Institute's Roaming Academy trajectories.

PNCA’s Low-Residency MFA is organized to be an innovative hybrid of an MFA degree and an artist residency. The low-residency program has a longer degree-completion times (3 years), flexible schedules, intensive residency periods, lower cost of attendance, and the distance-learning component, which does not require students to permanently relocate. Furthermore, the program is interdisciplinary, offering artists of all media and stages of their development the opportunity to refine their vision
