We’re so excited to announce MFA AC+D '18 alumni, Mel McKinley, as a recent Artist-in-Residence at Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, MT!
Red Lodge Clay Center supports nationally and internationally recognized artists, providing space for ceramic artists to create new work. "Red Lodge Clay Center hosts Visiting Artist workshops, lectures, demonstrations, gallery exhibitions, and educational programming to share with our resident artists and the general public the importance of art in our everyday lives." - Red Lodge Clay Center
Mel Mckinley is a studio designer currently living in Portland, OR. Her work focuses on material exploration and research in ceramics, and its applications in the fields of both everyday domestic objects and product design. She received an MFA in Applied Craft + Design from Oregon College of Art and Craft / Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2018 and a BFA from Eastern Kentucky University in both ceramics and jewelry based metal-smithing in 2016. Her current work can be seen in the Portland area.
