AC+D Summer Spotlight: Eli West
July 29, 2019
This summer, second year MFA AC+D student, Eli West, will be running the Meadow Arts Place second annual exhibition and residency program in Denver, Colorado! Meadow Arts Place provides artists at all stages of their careers time and space to create in an inspiring setting at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Eli West acts as the Residency Coordinator for Meadow Arts Place.
I am excited to curate Next on the M.A.P., the second annual joint exhibition and artist residency program between Next Gallery and the Meadow Arts Place just outside of Denver, Colorado. This year the exhibition features Mick Burson, Jess Bee, and Jordan Jirschele. These artists were juried in from a national call to artists and practice in a variety of mediums. Next on the M.A.P. highlights works created during the artists two week long residency in the foothills outside of Denver, emphasizing sculpture, fiber, woodworking and painting techniques. The exhibition will run from August 9-31, 2019.

Join PNCA's MFA Applied Craft + Design Chair Sara Huston, faculty member and mentor Abbie Miller and artist and craftswoman Annica Cuppetelli in conversation as they delve into their individual use of both hand work and machine techniques, and share their research on the various layers of production and information that are intertwined with objects, processes, and materials, as well as their need to evolve, adapt, and establish craft in relationship to making and industry. The event will take place with Miller’s ongoing exhibition as a backdrop for the talk.
