At Statements Art Basel, T.U.R.T.L.E., a solo project by Jasper Spicero '13 was presented by Johan Berggren. Statements presents new solo projects by emerging artists, who are eligible to receive the prestigious Baloise Art Prize. The Baloise Group acquires artworks by the award-winning artists, which it then donates to important European art institutions. These artists are among the 35 chosen for solo exhibitions to be mounted at 25 partner venues in 11 communities across the state. Many more PNCA alumni and faculty are included in the Salon exhibition at Disjecta that reflects Grabner’s many studio visits throughout the state.

Danielle Foushée, candidate in the Low Residency MFA in Visual Studies program, has accepted a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design in The Design School at Arizona State University which starts this Fall Semester. Foushée also has a public artwork in this year's Bellwether 2016 exhibition in Bellevue, WA opening July 15.

Intermedia student Layna Lewis is the founding director of the non-profit Viva La Free Portland. Viva La Free creates Art Healing Projects and Public Art to energize, enchant and heal our communities; using expressive arts to process trauma. https://www.facebook.com/vivalafreeportland/

Caitlyn Rooney MFA VS ’16 recently opened Orange and Blue at Little Berlin in Philadelphia, part of a series of solo exhibitions by recent MFA graduates from Pacific Northwest College of Art, University of Pennsylvania, Tyler School of the Arts, and Moore College of Art & Design.

Faculty member Linda Wysong recently completed “The Art Plan for the Jade Midway Districts of Portland” in collaboration with artist Horatio Law. The two have been working in the Districts for two years, first as "artist activists" and curators for the Artist Projects of 2015. The plan was supported by grants from Transportation for America (T4A) and the Kresge Foundation through the the Jade and Midway Districts.

IV Print with MFA in Print Media graduates Brandi Kruse, Kanani Miyamoto, Lynsey Nelson, Harry Schneider opens tonight at 6pm at Gallery 114, 1100 NW Glisan.

Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies candidate Christina Smiros opens @saveas.psd, a solo exhibition of video, installation, and Instagram opens tonight in the Holt Gallery off the New Commons.

MFA in Visual Studies Low-Residency Candidate Jenifer Yeuroukis' presents untitled bodies in 7’s, a series of performances this evening at PNCA and around the Pearl District.
