Congratulations to Princess Grace Award Winner Daniela Repas!

Biggest congratulations to Daniela Repas who has been awarded a prestigious Princess Grace Award Graduate Film Scholarship. Princess Grace Awards support extraordinary artists in theater, dance, and film via awards in the form of grants, scholarships, and fellowships.
Repas holds a BFA in Intermedia from PNCA, Repas is currently a candidate in the MFA in Visual Studies program. As an undergraduate student, she was a recipient of Dorothy Lemelson Scholarship at PNCA. And she has been a participant in PNCA's biennial Boundary Crossings Institute of Animated Arts where she met her collaborators in the DripDrop collective.
Her debut short film, Mnemonics, which she wrote, directed, and animated, delves into the catalogued memories of a Bosnian refugee, brought to life in beautifully animated drawings. The animated and live action short won a number of awards and was selected for inclusion in a number of film festivals.
Repas grounds her work in storytelling with a focus on hand drawn illustrations that she feeds into large scale installations, animation, and film. She has shown her work nationally and internationally.
For many years now, talented artists from PNCA have been selected for the Princess Grace Award. The awards often support the production of undergraduate students' ambitious thesis projects. Awardees have included:

The first awardee in the PNCA family was Rose Bond, longtime faculty member, lead of PNCA's undergraduate Animated Arts program, and the director of PNCA's Boundary Crossings biennial institute for animated arts. Animator and media artist, Bond has been internationally recognized for her monumental, content driven animated installations. In 1989, Bond was awarded the Princess Grace Award Graduate Film Scholarship, and in 2008, she received the Princess Grace Statue Award. In addition, she has received Special Project Awards from the Foundation in 2004, 2006, and 2011.
