Abstract
love is a 6” x 7” book consisting of illustrations, in which I explore love. Exploring love in our childhood and adolescence, as an adult and then as a senior. Beginning to notice the themes that show up in each stage of life and how each of them affect our view on love, I’ll explore it through the mundane. Through moments, places and objects in our everyday lives that make us feel. In this book I show love through my most personal experiences and thoughts.
Artist Statement
Born in méxico (and lived there basically forever) Paula learned to value multiculturality, collaboration and freedom.
She likes to mix illustration and design whenever she can and experiment with fun hand lettering projects. Paula loves to do silly things and have fun with anything creative she can get her hands on.
She recognizes the importance of humor but not without the proper amount of research and intelligence behind it.
Experimenting with different mediums and testing out different analog or digital processes is key in her creative process.
This project was a mix of many of skills and techniques mentioned above. A project of vulnerability and honesty. And one that combined digital illustration with analog ways of binding and printing.
Paula values kindness above anything else.
