Hand craft is a freeing experience filled with intuitive expression that is unencumbered and empowers. The act of making is a facet of Niky’s personal life practice and is intertwined with her identity. Enacting psychedelia through intuitive making generates work that is full of color and energy that allows a viewer to have a psychedelic, emotive response. This work is for the curious as the woven elements intertwine and confuse the senses allowing one to explore the transformation of material through traditional textile processes. By sharing her wonderment with re-knowing weaving and play, Niky’s work becomes an access point to positive change by encouraging happiness, connection, and conversation through her craft.
