Artist Statement
My artwork focuses on surreal and strange settings. It evokes the wonder and the fantasy that is often forgotten about the world. I have been influenced by impressionist and surrealist art. I use various media, including 2d animation, 3d modeling, digital illustration, and acrylic painting. I believe that the tools you use should have impact on the art you create. When I use a computer, I try to do things that you could not do traditionally, and when I use paint I try to make things that I could not make with a computer. My art mostly depicts places and things, not people. I use my art to explore the world. I use my art to explore the world as it might or should be. Katabasis is one such exploration. It’s a depiction of the consequences of our treatment of the earth. It shows how long it will take for the earth to forget humanity, for how long the effects of our 200,000-year lifespan will remain.
