Artist Statement
The self loving project, started out as a gift for myself and my community, more than anything else. It aims to summarize what I learned about sex and self love, the hard way, and offers the information to others by compiling things that I wish I had known in my first year of college. Through the creation of a handbook and a workbook full of illustrations I created a mock up for a nonfiction book set. My target audience is college students in bookstores and boutique sex shops. I had seen lots of material in my time spent researching but I often found sex education was marketed one of two ways. Hyper clinical or really really extremely horny and more than a bit intimidating. I wanted to create something approachable and simple that offered both an education and a conversation.
