Nebulous Complications
Nebulous Complications is a weaponized critique of memory, a retaliatory salvo in the space of cultural war. Current events provide ample context. The west is rising up to reclaim its civilization from systemic oppression. As activists dismantle memorials venerating the perpetrators of atrocity, the west has begun to realize the necessity of a just politics of memory. The stakes are high. Elsewhere, this imperative is long apparent, struggles of memory and culture forming the predicate to bloodshed.
Nebulous Complications engages image, text, and sound created in the global perambulations of the artist. The exhibition explores valent states of cultural agency, from the aftermath of decommunization and revolution to the spatial affect of epidemic gun violence.
