Dust to Dust - What Remains
Dust to Dust - What Remains is a pairing of exhibitions of works by Second Year MFA Candidates which focus on themes of presence and absence of the body, burnout, play, trauma, touch, weight and levity.
Each artist’s practice and material choices intentionally consider the different ways people experience life, death, loss and connection and their own personal vulnerability. All works emanate from a framework of thinking beyond binary categorizations of good and bad, pleasure and pain, sadness and joy to honor and give reverence to the formative powers that exist between such dualities.
Experienced in tandem both exhibitions consider connection or disconnection and viscerally engage into reflection of the vast, tumultuous, and ever-shifting nature of human struggle.
