Carly Naughton
Sick Pleasures is a series of abstract sculptures appropriating and reconfiguring combinations of sexual, clinical and cloy imagery from cultural representations of fat, disabled, and femme bodies. Naughton explores collisions between intimacy/exposure, beautification/enfreakment, grotesque/mundane, childish/perverse and desire/disgust upon the body through archival research and embodied practice. She finds sick pleasure in dissecting the dissector and the dissection.
