Project Statement

A human size fabricated figure sits on a wood box filled with plants and a rabbit plushie. Little creatures surround him, and painted dog faces adorn the clothes the figure is wearing. His guts are spilling; he represents interiority deconstructed, visceral, and familiar. Offal recognizing himself. titled EMPOWERED MEAT, the monstrous fabric beast exists as a reminder of the viscera of vulnerability. It is an expression of another self, split and weathered by emotional amnesia and trauma induced psychosis. It's an investigation into how we (buck and Robert) define strength as a multiplicity as it has been reinforced through the internalized dichotomy of interior/exterior.
