Synopsis
A demonstration on how graphic design may be used as a tool for marketing and promoting a beat-tape on all major streaming platforms. In the production of a collaborative beat-tape called “5-Meo Tapes”, there will be a total of nine instrumental tracks, all with their own official audio reactive music visual. A design system was built to be able to pull design elements from these visualizers onto an art cover and the rest of the deliverables such as CD packaging, a landing page, motion graphics, social media campaign, posters, shirt designs and QR fliers. My goal for this project is to gain more skills in design marketing and learn more about the process of promoting a release in the music industry.
Artist Statement
Brand design and motion graphics are essential for social media campaigns by capturing people’s attention when trying to build a presence in the public. With design marketing, digital advertising should be memo-rable, engaging and directing people with a call to action. My work in graphic design highlights this area of brand marketing and my goals are to help businesses, agencies or clients get their projects finished whether it be through logo design, package design, social media campaigns and websites. Overall, I have a great under-standing on how brand guidelines should be used when designing certain touch points and deliverables.
My creative process involves working with established grid systems and building compositions with them, even breaking the rules when I need to; it can make something look more appealing at times. Some of my influences in design include Storm Thorgenson, Takashi Murakami, Elektronaut and Saul Bass. Before taking on projects, I always begin with research and studying brand guide-lines, but also enjoy thinking outside of the box adding a little of my own style to a composition. Logo design has been one of my favorite mediums to work in as well as motion graphics and UX/UI design. My niche in design leans more towards the music industry, but I enjoy doing anything that involves branding and motion design.
