The Albert Solheim Library

The library and and its staff support the curricular, creative, and research needs of the PNCA community. We provide students with the tools needed to become life-long scholars, to use information with integrity, and to practice curiosity and determination in all areas of knowledge seeking.

About the Library

The Albert Solheim Library, located on the ground floor of the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design, has an extensive collection of books, DVDs, magazines, zines, and specialized subscription databases (both image and text). The collection consists of materials essential to the curriculum, and new materials are selected by library staff to mirror the PNCA curriculum. Collections are further enhanced by suggestions from alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

Library facilities and amenities include:

  • three group study rooms
  • color photocopier and printer
  • multi-use computer workstations
  • two large-format scanners
  • comfortable seating areas
  • Reference Desk for research help
