Campus Safety at PNCA

Campus Safety officers are on duty from 7 a.m. to midnight every day and should be contacted for all on-campus emergency and facilities-related concerns and requests by calling (503) 621-2061. 

Our Campus Safety Team members are trained not only in the basics of unarmed security, but also in non violent crisis intervention techniques, verbal de-escalation skills, gender spectrum awareness, the importance of inclusion and equity on our campus, emergency procedures, first aid, and CPR. 

The department also relies on the Portland police to enforce city ordinances and state and federal laws.

Students are required to have and may be asked to present their PNCA photo ID card at any time on campus. When activated by the Technology Staff, ID cards can grant you access to select facilities including the Glass Building, Creative Technology Lab, and the Digital Print Studio.

All students and staff are issued ID cards and doors require ID card access. Only students, faculty, staff, and authorized personnel are allowed in the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design at 511 NW Broadway, or the “511 building,” except during open community events.

Students may request a security escort between 7 a.m. and midnight to walk them between campus buildings by calling the on-duty Campus Safety Officer at 503-621-2061.
