Information for Undocumented and DACA Students

You Belong at PNCA

At PNCA, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to explore their creative potential in a welcoming and supportive environment. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive community where all students, including those who are undocumented or DACA recipients, can thrive. You belong here, and we're committed to supporting you every step of the way.

No Proof of Citizenship or Employment Authorization Card Required

When applying to PNCA, you do not need to provide proof of citizenship. Our admissions process takes a holistic approach, considering your artistic achievements, personal experiences, and more - without requiring additional documentation such as an Employment Authorization Card.

Application Process

To apply, complete the First-Year or Transfer application. Select your country of citizenship, and if you do not have a Social Security number through DACA, simply leave that field blank.

Required Documents

  • Official High School Transcript (for First-Year students and transfer students with less than 60 college semester credits completed)
  • Final high school transcript once available
  • Transcripts from all colleges attended (for transfer students)

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Navigating Financial Aid

While PNCA uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need, undocumented students are not eligible for federal aid. However, DACA students with a Social Security number can complete FAFSA to receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which can assist in applying for private, state, and institutional funding.

At PNCA, there is no difference in tuition fees for in-state or out-of-state applicants.

Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships are available to all incoming students, including undocumented students, with no separate application required. We also encourage you to explore external scholarship opportunities through organizations like TheDream.US and Golden Door Scholars. Always verify the legitimacy of these opportunities by checking for application fees and reviews.
