Art History dives into human creativity and its impact on culture through topics like power, myth, science, and philosophy. The curriculum explores art's historical and contemporary roles within society, helping to enhance critical thinking and visual skills. This minor develops writing and research abilities, preparing students for advanced studies and a variety of careers.
The Art History minor requires the completion of 18 semester hours, which includes three three-credit required courses, two additional Integrated Studies “History of” courses, and either one additional “History of” course or an approved Art History-focused applied learning course. Taken together with a major, this minor contributes to the 121 credits required for the BFA degree.
