Watershed Center for Fine Art Publishing and Research

Delve further into the art of printmaking in PNCA’s research center – and explore opportunities you won’t find anywhere else.

Experience Professional Fine Art Publishing as a Student

Through the Watershed Center, students can delve into unique learning opportunities. As the research and education extension of PNCA’s printmaking program, Watershed facilitates meaningful professional experiences for students. The Center invites visiting artists, researchers, and professional printers to collaborate with students on projects and special editions.

The Watershed Center offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience working with artists, galleries, and museums as well as professional printmakers. The Center welcomes one resident artist and/or collaborative project each semester. By partnering with local organizations and nonprofits on printmaking projects and special editions, Watershed allows students to learn about all facets of the printmaking process while deepening connections with the local community.

Jordan D. Schnitzer Exhibition and Visiting Artist Series

Each year, PNCA hosts an exhibition of prints from the Jordan D. Schnitzer Family Foundation along with an artist with a connection to the exhibit. The exhibition is curated from the Foundation’s collection of over 9,000 prints. As a nonprofit that promotes education and the accessibility of contemporary prints, the Schnitzer Foundation is committed to supporting the academic and artistic exploration of PNCA students. The visiting artist engages with PNCA students, faculty, and the public through lectures, studio visits, and collaborations, enriching their campus experiences. This series, in collaboration with Watershed, allows our students to develop projects with artists who have work in the collection.
