Our faculty are working artists who have decades of experience solving problems to bring works of art into being, and our shop techs can help you one-on-one to learn tools and techniques in our 3D workshops.

David Eckard
Department Head
David Eckard is an artist, educator, and performer based in Portland, Oregon. He is exhibiting in Portland2016 (the biennial curated by Michelle Grabner) and recently exhibited at Atelier Dado in Cetijne, Montenegro, and at the Centre International D’Art Contemporain in Pont-Aven, France.

Metal Shop
Access to MIG, TIG and torch welding, plasma cutter, forge, extensive air tools and hand tools, and a horizontal bandsaw.

Wood Shop
Our wood shop houses an extensive collection of traditional and contemporary woodworking tools such as: lathes, SawStop table saw, panel saw, drill press, bandsaws, radial arm saw, and hand tools.

Ceramics Lab
Newly updated with three new kilns for glass and pottery casting, fusing and slumping, one oversized kiln, wheels, and a plaster and slip cast mold making facility.

Make+Think+Code
Always expanding, our technology-focused lab offers classes, workshops and access to a wide-range of contemporary creative technology like 3D printers (with 3D ceramic extrusion capabilities), routing, laser cutters, a large-format 3D scanner, and many other digital tools and facilities.
