Pacific Northwest College of Art Welcomes Commencement Speaker Andi Zeisler of Bitch Media

Portland, OR—May 5, 2017—Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) is pleased to welcome Andi Zeisler as 2017 Commencement Speaker on May 21, 2017. Zeisler is co-founder and Editorial/Creative Director of Bitch Media, a nonprofit, independent, feminist media organization whose mission is to provide and encourage a feminist response to mainstream media and popular culture. Bitch Media is best known for the magazine Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, which started as a zine in 1996. PNCA faculty, students, and alumni have all been contributors to Bitch over the years.

On May 21, PNCA graduates students from each of its ten Bachelor of Fine Arts programs as well as students from the Master of Fine Arts programs in Visual Studies, Print Media, Applied Craft and Design, and Collaborative Design.

“What Andi has done with Bitch Media and as a freelance writer and illustrator, aligns so well with PNCA’s mission: to empower artists and designers to reimagine what art and design can do in the world,” says President Don Tuski. “We could not be happier to welcome her as Commencement speaker as we send our graduates out into the world.”
