PNCA Presents Undergraduate and Graduate Thesis Exhibitions in New Campus Flagship

Portland, OR — May 7, 2015 – Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) presents its annual Thesis Exhibitions showing the work of undergraduate and graduate students opening May 31, 2015 and running through June 19, 2015. The public is welcome to see work that represents a culmination of years of work and a final thesis intensive. These works include paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, design work, artist’s books, videos, performances, and more. This is the first year that the Thesis Exhibitions will be held at PNCA’s new campus flagship on the North Park Blocks, the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design at 511 NW Broadway. MFA in Visual Studies and MFA in Collaborative Design candidates as well as students graduating with BFA degrees in Design Arts, Media Arts, and Studio Arts will present work at sites throughout the building. The exhibitions will be open to the public from 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday.

Meanwhile, candidates in the MFA in Applied Craft and Design program, jointly offered with Oregon College of Art and Craft, will present work at the Bison Building at 421 NE 10th with an opening on May 22, 2015 from 6-9pm. That exhibition runs through June 5, 2015.

“The PNCA thesis process brings together four years of dedicated, diligent efforts on the part of our students,” says PNCA President Tom Manley. “We are proud to invite the public into the college to see and be inspired by work that is frequently powerful, surprising and innovative but always distinctively creative.”

Visitors to PNCA’s Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design will also be able to see the current exhibition in the 511 Gallery, Gathering Autonomy: Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, through June 21, 2015.
