MFA Show Explores Temporal Frequencies

February 04, 2009

The MFA Central Gallery features a collaboration between two MFA students that explores “Temporal Frequencies.”

Sound artist Mindy McGovern and light-based painter Laura Hughes use color frequency to explore links between their individual practices in a video projection that integrates elements of both practices.

McGovern created a piano and percussion tonal composition derived from relative color frequencies. Hughes: Painting created with inkjet printer ink, oil, and isopropyl alcohol inserted into corrugated plastic.
