Public Spaces for Mental Health (or) Healing in Public: Collaboratively re-imagining communal urban spaces

In this workshop, we will take time to collectively imagine communal urban spaces that support us in our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Through interactive activities and memory work, we will imagine what is it like to be held and supported through communal urban spaces. We will then use the information we gathered to build a mini mock-up of an envisioned future space.

Agenda: 1. Warm-up activity 2. Future thinking game – taking steps forward/back in answering future-related questions 3. Implication’s analysis / memory work – describing positive experiences in urban spaces 4. Building activity – envisioning and bringing to life future thinking exercises 5. Wrap-up

Workshop will be led by Maddy Silberger-Franek, MFA Candidate in Collaborative Design

Workshop will take place in the MFA Collaborative Design workspace on PNCA’s Mezzanine (up Atrium stairs, between first and second floor)

Mezzanine is wheel-chair accessible through the lift in the PNCA library- see library front desk staff for assistance
