Concept Statement
For my thesis, I created an open-source display font where every character is designed differently. Chance. otf is the name of this font. The name comes from the endless possibilities of what these letters can be and how they can live out in the world. There’s a chance for these letters to live in infinite futures. This font is
a collection of different letters and numbers that are part of a multiverse that people can contribute and add their own letters to. It is a form of collaboration where people can express their personalities together through typography. It is a font that can develop a sense of community with other artists and designers. For the last lowercase style, I asked people to contribute to this font by drawing their own letters that would be added to it. This style shows how different letters drawn by other people can come together as one working system.
